Session Descriptions

Managing Your Career – Develop Your Plan for Action
We go through annual planning and goal setting with our institutions. We sit down with our supervisors and managers to evaluate our process at least annually. But how much time do we spend considering our own career, personal development and the intersection of those with our personal interests?

Whether you are brand new to the prospect research field or have been in various aspects of the profession for many years, lifelong learning and a genuine interest in staying abreast of trends and creative ways to accomplish our goals is key to a successful career.

This session will explore some key factors to developing and growing your credibility and professional presence and help attendees outline their own professional development plan.

Speed Networking: Getting to Know Your Colleagues
The mission of a good professional organization is not only to help educate its members about new trends and opportunities, but also to help them connect and learn from the experiences of its members. This will be an opportunity for Apra Indiana members to not only network, but to also create a platform for peer and advisory relationships. Participants will be rotated around the room to meet each other. Bring your business cards! We will provide a handful of questions to get you started.

Building Your Development and Campaign Pipeline
Whether you are formally in a campaign or working to support your development operation, a strong pipeline is critical to long term success.

Does your pipeline support your campaign or annual fundraising goal? What is the gap between your goals and expected amount? Is your pipeline growing or shrinking? How do I contribute to the pipeline?

This session will look at how to evaluate your existing pipeline, enhance your pipeline infrastructure to support growth and analysis, identify the best prospects and work in conjunction with front-line officers to qualify prospects and move towards gifts.
